The trainee program is the first step to a career at BillerudKorsnäs. For the selected few, the trainee program will be tough and challenging but also exciting and educational.

We are currently planning the next trainee program and more information about the program and application period is to come. Please read about the previous Billerud trainee program below.
The former Billerud trainee program
The Billerud trainee program is tailored for engineer- and economist graduates. During a one-year period, participants will be provided with the best conditions for a profound understanding of the Billerud business model. The relationship between production, marketing and sales is high on the agenda. Trainees will pursue a trail of personal development by putting their talents and skills to the test. Billerud expect trainees to make a difference by challenging given patterns on a day-to-day basis.

Participants will foremost be located in a dedicated home department (see box for placement) and relocate between the Swedish mills, the head office and one of Billerud’s international sales offices throughout the year. The program provides good potential to be a part of the whole of the business model and build up a large and valuable network for a future career in Billerud. Twelve hand-picked Billerud employees will participate in four major training sessions with the ten trainees. During these sessions various themes such as, leadership, strategy, financial goals, innovation and business development will be in focus. The aim is to let existing staff and trainees meet, become inspired and learn from each other, expecting that such cross-fertilisation will generate successful ideas within various fields in the Billerud organisation.
Karin Hågfeldt and Per Lindberg
The corner stones throughout the trainees’ first introduction day, where detailed information about their approaching challenge was blended with inspirational advice from the CEO Per Lindberg and personnel director Karin Hågfeldt, were clear. Commitment, drive and change. The latest will most certainly be noticed, especially for those who will be in a new location, and in many cases in their first post-graduate position.
"To ensure continuous learning, development and competence of Billerud, today and in the future, we conduct a second trainee program. We believe that the people we have chosen have the suitable background and personality to contribute in the continuous development of our business." says Billerud’s personnel director Karin Hågfeldt.
