Billeruds technically advanced paper grades are used for a broad range of industrial speciality applications. Self-adhesive labels, steel protection, sterile medical packages and pulp wrap are a few of the end uses for our speciality paper.
Medical packaging
By combining strength and well-balanced porosity, paper serves as a protective material for medical packaging. It allows the sterilisation medium to penetrate the package, while also providing an effective, long-term microbial barrier. Among Billerud’s wide range of medical kraft papers, you’ll find grades designed specifically for the most stringent sterilisation, printing and medical packaging requirements.

Siliconising paper
Billerud’s silionising paper grades are used for a multitude of applications within the self-adhesive product segment, including labels, tapes, personal hygiene products, insulation material and covering films. Even at low grammages, our strong and rigid paper ensures excellent runability in high-speed machinery. All our plain paper, or clay-coated grades, possess the closed surface characteristics which allow for a minimum use of silicone.

Interleaving
Strong, clean, particle-free and chemically neutral – all key characteristics of interleaving paper designed to protect high quality stainless steel rolls and sheets. Our pure white interleaving grades also offer superior runability, allowing state-of-the-art steel machinery to run at full speed.
Pulp wrap
Paper or pulp sheets are the most common pulp wrapping methods. A good pulp wrapper must have a high paper stretch as the pulp bales expand after the pressing operation. Strength is also vital given the tough handling bales are subjected to during transportation and storage. Balanced wrapping and folding properties make the bale more attractive in appearance. Billerud PulpWrap has been carefully developed to meet all these demands.
Décor
Laminated furniture and wall board panelling are applications where the demands from décor paper are extremely high. Printed appearance, opacity, lacquer holdout and limited fibre show when tooling are amongst a long list of considerations when choosing the correct grade. Our newly developed range of resin pre-impregnated papers (PiP’s), are available in low grammages and provide yield benefits in combination with high quality.
