Product safety means that our products must be safe to be used in terms of health and the environment.
Specific product safety requirements must be met in many areas of use, such as food packaging, medical applications and toys.
Many of our products come into contact with food and are therefore covered by legal requirements. This means that we must have good control over the chemicals and other additives in our products. We also have to test our products for purity, smell, taste, etc.
The following are examples of legal requirements that must be met in our work on product safety:
• FDA (Food and Drug Administration, USA),
• BfR (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung, Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, Germany)
• EU regulations (the general regulation for materials, Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004, there is no specific regulation for paper)
• EU regulation 2023/2006, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), inkl. Annex regarding set-off
• REACH (Registration Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals)
