Transportation Planner (Quinnesec, MI)

Summary Description: Responsible for inbound/outbound transportation operations.
Qualifications
Key Accountabilities:
- Planner/Scheduler for Q40 machine
- Manage daily railroad activities for the Quinnesec Mill
- Demurrage on inbound / outbound shipments
- Supply & quality of railroad equipment for Q40
- Monitor railcar storage levels (i.e., “Load & Hold”)
- Tracking of inbound / outbound shipments
- Mill contact for rail yard issues (i.e., switching, maintenance, etc.)
- Coordinate movement of customer loads involved in derailments, diversions, and bad-ordered cars enroute to destination
- Plan/Tender Pulp truck shipments
- Outside warehousing: plan shipments in/out and Annual Inventory
- Perform annual inventory for Q40 warehouse
- Coordinate Monthly Inventory reports for Q40
- Provide backup coverage for production control planning positions, as required
- Participate in weekend support requirements

- Knowledge of shipping, transportation, and/or production control functions
- Experience in supplier/vendor interface
- Optivision, SAP, Excel system experience
