Summary Description:
The National Account Manager - Label & Packaging is responsible for meeting or exceeding Billerud North America’s commercial objectives — including volume, mix, profitability, pricing, and new business development — across assigned converter, national account, and/or geographic customers. This includes managing direct sales of Billerud’s board portfolio (containerboard, cartonboard, or related grades depending on assignment).  The role requires building strong multi‑level customer relationships, selling Billerud’s value proposition, gathering strategic market intelligence, and collaborating cross‑functionally to support customer needs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets, including volume, pricing, product mix, contribution margin, and overall account profitability.
  • Build, strengthen, and expand strategic customer relationships across all levels — purchasing, operations, customer service, outside sales, and senior leadership.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans outlining objectives, tactics, timelines, metrics, risks, and growth strategies.
  • Deliver value‑based selling by clearly articulating Billerud’s value proposition and product advantages, performance, sustainability attributes, and total cost‑of‑ownership benefits.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within existing accounts and new converter or national account segments.
  • Gather, synthesize, and communicate competitive insights, market activity, pricing intelligence, supply trends, and customer needs to inform commercial strategy.
  • Support customer demand forecasting and ensure alignment with internal supply planning, logistics, and mill scheduling.
  • Partner cross‑functionally with Marketing, Pricing, Customer Service, Product Management, Technical Service, Sales Leadership, Finance, and Sustainability to deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • Leverage internal tools (Salesforce, Excel, reporting dashboards) to manage the sales pipeline, track KPIs, evaluate account health, and communicate risks or opportunities.
  • Maintain working knowledge of converting operations (corrugated, folding carton, preprint, printing technologies) and apply this understanding to support customer problem‑solving and product fit.
  • Participate in customer visits, trials, business reviews, and relevant industry events to strengthen relationships and expand Billerud’s presence in the market.
  • Proactively manage issues impacting service, quality, price, or supply, escalating when necessary and coordinating internal problem‑
  • Provide timely, accurate updates on sales performance, forecasting, account status, and strategic opportunities.
  • Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded through responsive communication, problem resolution, and coordinated action planning.
  • Travel as required (~50% overnight and ~80% total including day travel) to support assigned customer accounts and internal alignment.

Personliga egenskaper

Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Demonstrated B2B sales experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • Sales experience within packaging converting (containerboard, cartonboard, or related segments).
  • Established relationships with independent converters or folding carton accounts.
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Negotiation ability across multiple customer levels.
  • Strong relationship-building skills; collaborative team player.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills, including comfort using tools such as Excel and Salesforce.
